HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED OF BECOMING A WRITER? THIS BOOK MAY INSPIRE YOU TO DO JUST THAT

This is the perfect book for readers who like to have everything their own way — with story endings, that is. Five beginnings of short stories with interesting characters and settings spark the reader's imagination when the author turns the stories over to the reader to create an ending in his or her own way. You can finish them as a cliffhanger, with tragedy, humor, ambiguous or bittersweet. You might even surprise yourself by discovering your writing skills are better than you had expected.

WHEN LIVE IGNITES

Why love? In five different situations in as many stories love strikes, sometimes in an unusual way. What happens next remains uncertain, but the couples have a foundation for the future. Much has been written about love at first sight. Does it exist or should it be called a “possibility of love at first sight"? Somehow people have a way of knowing of their future compatibility even though there are still many obstacles to face before a solid romance develops. Some of the factors are locational, and mutual interest seems important. Still, like lightning, love comes frequently when it is totally unexpected, as these stories of initial encounter show.

THE DARK SIDE OF PURA VIDA

Retired baseball player Jack Patterson becomes suspicious after his younger sister dies in a Pacific Ocean rip tide while on vacation in Costa Rica. Jack has to go there to find answers to troubling questions. But soon he is hijacked by a gang of avengers led by an icy Costa Rican-American woman who carries twin pistols strapped to her chest. Jack soon helps uncover a web of corruption and greed.
The believable characters and subject matter created enough suspense and wanting to know more that I couldn't stop reading this book from start to finish.

A Potpourri of Gems Worthy Of Being Uncovered

LIFE IS A TROPICAL GARDEN

Author Victoria Stuart Torley gives readers a  quirky look at gardening in the tropics. What happens when a "Northern" gardener moves to Costa Rica? You have no idea....

You don't have to be into gardening to enjoy this book. The author tells a humorous story of her gardening adventure which is entertaining even for non-gardeners. And if you are a gardener, there is plenty of practical advice along the way. I'm hoping she writes another book for us "northern" gardeners.

With the growing popularity of self-publishing, going through thousands, if not millions of books in the online bookstores is daunting. And some of the best books (even some that merit becoming best-sellers) are buried, making it almost impossible to find them. Much of my time is spent digging for those hidden gems, and as I find them I post them here. I don't claim the books presented here are destined to become best sellers but they certainly are good reads. Please don't hesitate to share your special finds — just tap HERE to bring them to my attention.
